 Salary: £12.00*

Please Note: Instructors must the over the age of 18 (Full training can be provided)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Catering Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support our busy catering team delivering a first-class menu and excellent customer service to a broad range of clients.

The Centre delivers educational adventures activities to participants of all ages and backgrounds attending residential activity events or day activities.

Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for helping in the kitchen as it caters for our client’s needs (based on advanced food orders) and ensuring that the food served is of excellent quality.

Responsibilities of Appointment
A clear description of the role including key tasks and accountabilities

· Putting safety first.

· Support the centre in consistently delivering a high-quality product.

· Support the centre to remain budget focused.

· Deputising for Head Chef when required.

· Present yourself in line with the company standards Including delivering a high level of

Customer Service

· The opening and closing of the Catering Facility.

· Assisting with the creation of menu items, recipes, developing dishes to meet the client’s needs.

· Assisting with stock management.

· Support the purchasing of food.

· Meal preparation.

· Serving meals with the support of other staff.

· Providing quality customer service.

· General tidiness and deep clean of kitchen in line with business and Food Hygiene Standards.

Any other reasonable duties commensurate with your role and level of remuneration, which may from time to time be required by the business.

Person Specifications
Essential and desirable qualities of the ideal candidate.

Essential:

· Competent understanding of all regulations, food hygiene and company specifications.

· Able to work under instruction of the Head Chef.

· Relevant Food Hygiene qualifications

· Applicants must be self-motivated and able to work alone meeting deadlines

· High standard of customer service

· An excellent team player with exceptional communication skills

Desirables:

· Experience in a commercial kitchen working.

Experience of interacting with individuals who have special educations needs

Working Hours

Due to the variation of our activities and changing customer requirements our working day is of a flexible nature. Working days are normally approximately 8 hours and include weekend and bank holiday working.

Casual Role

You will not be guaranteed a minimum number of hours of work each week, the Company is not obliged to provide you with any work and therefore in a particular week you may receive no work at all from the Company. However, the Company will offer available hours in writing and you must accept in writing to secure the arrangement.

Where you are offered work, you are not obliged to accept the hours offered if you do not wish to do so, and you will not be penalised if, for whatever reason, you do not accept hours on a particular occasion.

Safeguarding

Successful applicants will require an enhanced DBS check with child barred checklists included – if you do not have one, this can be instigated for you, and participate in safeguarding training in line with company policies.
